NOSTALGIA HARI RAYA EXHIBITION

Making Cakes (Kuih) and Cooking Raya Foods

A tradition that is often done the day before Hari Raya is cooking traditional dishes such as lemang, rendang, serunding, mixing dodol and weaving ketupat. Not to forget the Kuih Raya that are made a week before Raya. Kuih Raya that are often made are such as kuih bahulu, kuih sepit, kuih ros and various types of biscuits. Usually the whole family will work together to prepare this feast. On Raya night, they will also fill the jars with various kuih to be served to the guests who will come to visit the next day. Each family has their own recipe for cakes (kuih) and foods, so if you visit each house the taste of the food is different in each house.
